9 July 2021

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing has been honored for excellence in the field of communications by the Association for Women in Communications (AWC). The Materials Evaluation staff was awarded a Clarion Award in the Best Overall Internal Magazine category.

The ME staff include Neal J. Couture, CAE, Publisher; Toni Kervina, Director of Publications; Jill Ross, Editor; Cara Markland, Assistant Editor; Joy Grimm, Production Manager; Synthia Jester, Graphic Designer/Illustrator; John Z. Chen, Technical Editor; and many associate and contributing editors.

“Materials Evaluation has been ASNT’s flagship magazine serving members since its initial inception as Industrial Radiography in 1942,” said Kervina. “I am extremely proud of the women who work each month to continue the longstanding tradition of delivering the Society news and peer-reviewed technical content that keeps our membership informed and knowledgeable of the nondestructive testing industry.”

ME represents the interests of all critical segments of ASNT’s membership and is the primary means of communication with the membership. Critical segments of the membership include but are not limited to: technicians; researchers; exhibitors; educators; technical authors; certified Level Is, Level IIs, and Level IIIs; and advertisers.

For more than 40 years, the AWC Clarion Awards have recognized small business, large corporate, nonprofit, agency, and government communication specialists internationally who demonstrate excellence in clear and concise communications.

As one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind in the country, the 2021 competition attracted entries from 20 states and three countries, with entries judged by teams of experts from all aspects of the marketing and communications fields.
