Mr. Alexander Leybovich is an Electrical Engineer with an MS diploma Cum Laude in Electro-Physics and Vacuum Science from Polytechnic Institute (currently Technical University) St Petersburg, Russia. He completed 3-year Post Graduate (Extramural) Schooling in Thin Film Technology and Sputter Science with Research Institution, St Petersburg, Russia. Mr. Leybovich has four decades of experience in cross-disciplinary fields of semiconductor and integrated circuit thin film technology, material science, and NDT applied to R&D and manufacturing of electronic devices and electronic consumables (sputtering targets). As an R&D engineer and later manager of Material Evaluation Lab & NDT at TOSOH SMD, Inc, Grove City, Ohio, USA, Mr. Leybovich pioneered development and deployment of advanced techniques for nondestructive testing of sputtering targets by creating de-facto industry (sputtering targets manufacturing) standards for material cleanliness evaluation. Mr. Leybovich’s primary expertise lies in the field of advanced industrial immersion ultrasonics, including methods, instrumentation, and specialty customized software, which he personally developed. He holds 16 primary and numerous secondary patents (USA, Russia, Japan, Germany, and South Korea) in the fields of thin film technology, sensors, and NDT. He is a recipient of Bronze Medal for sputter tool design / technology from trade show Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy, Moscow, Russia, 1982. Mr. Leybovich authored multiple scientific and technical articles related to thin film technology, NDT, NDT health monitoring, and statistical–probabilistic analysis of the NDT data. These articles have been published in USA, Great Britain, and Germany. He has been an active member of ASNT since 1998. He is an active participant and frequent presenter at ASNT meetings and conferences. Currently, he serves as a member of Board of Directors of Central Ohio Section of ASNT.
