In an effort to improve its ASNT NDT Level II Certification Program, the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is offering an exclusive opportunity to all ASNT members to participate in “Beta Examinations” in the methods of MT, RT, PT, UT, and VT. These exams are being offered in April 2014 at twelve sites: ten domestically and two internationally.
The Beta Exams are NDT Level II certification examinations that are being tested to ensure its validity. Once validated, it will be published as a regular exam. In order to make sure the updated exams meet the high standards required by the NDT field, the exams must be taken by a large sample of NDT professionals.
If the exams are validated, those who pass their respective exams will receive a certification in that method at no additional charge.
As there is a high likelihood that the exams will be validated, but there is no guarantee, the beta exams are offered to all ASNT members free of charge.
Nonmembers who are interested in participating may register to become an ASNT member prior to applying to take the Beta Exams.
Deadlines to apply varies per testing location and candidates should refer to their preferred site for more information.
More details about the Beta Exams and application materials can be found on the ASNT website at www.asnt.org/betaexams.
