Regional Director Nominations

Regional Directors (RD) represent section leader interests at Section Operations Council (SOC) meetings and bring the diverse interests of sections in their region to the ASNT Board of Directors. RDs are also responsible for communicating new section-related developments and initiatives of the Board and the Section Operations Council to section leadership. RD responsibilities are listed in the Section Operations Council’s Rules of Conduct on the ASNT website and in the February Ready Reference issue of Materials Evaluation.

The SOC’s objectives are to support the mission of ASNT. Each of the Council’s undertakings are aimed and guided by the mission and strategic plan objectives. See current list of Regional Directors.

Willingness to Serve

RD nominations are accepted between November 1 and March 1. Qualifications for the two-year position are:

• Be a current ASNT member
• Have experience serving as a section officer
• Have secured written employer support
• Have agreed to accept the office

Regional Director Election Schedule

Elections for Regional Directors in odd-numbered regions take place during odd-numbered years. Elections for Regional Directors in the even-numbered regions take place during even-numbered years.
